long, long time ago, in a land not so far way, in a village not so big, in a sea not so
agreeable, near a cove not so safe, there lived The Singing Fish; a majestic and powerful
creature. It is here that this story unravels.
You see, The Singing Fish would often taunt the nearby town of Dum Po.
"I curse you horrible people! You and your hideous ancestors. You all should suffer
terribly, for there is not a single beautiful person among you!"
Although these damnations would trouble the townspeople, they often ignore them because
The Swimming One had dramatized this for years. It was not until The Singing Fish
placed a curse upon the town's cattle did anyone take heed.
"This unprovoked act must not go unanswered!" exclaimed the leader of the townspeople.
"It is time for us to fight back! We need our cows to milk once again!"
So, the townspeople employed the help of a great mage to help them in their conflict with
The Caroling One. This powerful mage conjured up a great sunami to destroy The Singing
Fish in his cove.
"This will rid you horri..um..respectful people of your trouble." spoke the mage. "Now
go to your homes and wait!"
Shortly after arriving at their abodes, the towns people realized their grave mistake; the
sunami would destroy the town as well! They fled for their lives but it was too late. The
great wave of water could be seen heading for the town, and to the townspeople despair,
The Singing Fish was riding the wave like a surfer.
"You horrible, feeble-minded people! Did you expect to destroy me with water?! You are
surely fools.", mocked The Surfing One. "For your stupidity, you will all suffer endlessly!
After the deathly water subsided, The Singing Fish heading to the nearby town of Hung
Pu' to buy some rice cakes with the money the townspeople had paid him
